State Government Launches E-Lottery for Subsidised Seeds, Farmers Urged to Book Soon
Farmers will receive subsidised and free seeds under a new state government scheme through e-lottery. Registration and booking on the Agriculture Department's Darshan-2 portal are mandatory to avail the benefit.
District Agriculture Officer Devendra Singh Niranjan said farmers will have to book through the portal to receive subsidised seeds of wheat, toria, mustard, barley, gram, peas, lentils and other crops under the scheme. Registration on the Agriculture Department portal is mandatory for booking. Farmers will be able to book seeds only after completing the registration process.
As part of the booking process, the Beej Mini Kit option will be displayed on the Agriculture Department's Darshan-2 portal. After clicking on the option, farmers will see the application option, following which they will have to enter their Agriculture Department registration number and Farmer ID. An OTP will then be sent to the registered mobile number.
After entering the OTP, farmers will be able to complete the booking for the Beej Mini Kit. The Agriculture Department has made it clear that subsidised seeds will be provided only after booking through the portal. Subsidised seeds will not be available through any other means.
The seed distribution under the scheme includes all types of general seeds, all types of demonstration seeds and all types of hybrid seeds. Farmers who have not yet completed the required booking have been advised to complete the process soon to avoid being deprived of the scheme's benefits.
